It seems like almost everyone has a digital camera these days that can take photos of just about anything in a matter of moments. Working with digital photographs instead of the traditional film and paper print photos is cost-effective, there is no wasted paper to end up in the garbage and they take up almost no physical space at all!
Starting your own web log is a great side project for almost anyone, whether you are a busy mother, high school student or even retired. And what is better than just taking lots of digital pictures is the fun way you can display them to others. There are lots of different ways to let others enjoy your photos, from electronic picture frames to printing them out to keeping them on your cell phone. Whether you’re a pro photographer or an amateur camera user you’ll still like the convenience of digital photography.
A blog is a website that allows an author to publish instant updates onto Internet about just about any subject imaginable. A photography blog can feature the digital images you took on any specific day or trip. One of the newest ways to display your images to others is with a photography blog. You can add your written thoughts about your photos and you can inform people about why you snapped the photos and where you were when you took them.
Most blogging websites are easy to get started with. To start a photo blog you only need to find some free blogging sites and pick a blog name. You simply write your thoughts out in a post, upload your digital photos from your computer and the blogging site pretty much does the rest. When you are satisfied with a post you “publish” it and anyone on the internet can instantly see it!
Don’t forget a blog can be a 2-way communication tool! With a photography blog you can not only allow others to see your photos but you can also allow visitors to write comments on your posts. Getting feedback from visitors to your web log is part of the fun of posting your photos online. If you allow comments on your images then you can also discover what other people like and do not like about your photos.
Remember not to worry about always writing a post that’s going to make other people happy. It is your photography blog and you can post pictures of whatever you want. You can post images of a a recent trip one day and then put up photos of some children playing in your front yard the next day. Just try to enjoy the ability to publish your digital images so quickly with your own blog!
